FAQ

What is KONYAMUN’26?

KONYAMUN’26 is a comprehensive Model United Nations (MUN) program that will be held in 2026 in cooperation with the Konya Metropolitan Municipality. It is organized through the participation and joint effort of 15 schools in Konya. Beyond being the initiative of a single school, it serves as a youth and diplomacy platform representing Konya.

This program is an academic and social event aimed at encouraging young people to think, discuss, and develop solutions on international relations, diplomacy, and global issues. It also contributes to improving participants’ communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Developed meticulously since June, the KONYAMUN’26 project has gained a strong organizational infrastructure through numerous official meetings and planning processes. With the completion of the application and team recruitment phases, both the organization and academic teams responsible for executing the conference have been fully established.

KONYAMUN has been designed as a large-scale, visionary, and prestigious youth program aiming to represent Konya both nationally and internationally. The program includes various committees, current global issues, and multilingual sessions, offering participants a genuine diplomacy experience.

As a result of months of dedication and effort, KONYAMUN’26 stands as a significant organization that reflects Konya’s potential, brings young people together, and aims to create an impact on an international level.

KONYAMUN’26 is held under the auspices and leadership of the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, brought to life through its full support and contributions. Additionally, it is strengthened by the academic and logistical support of the Konya Provincial Directorate of National Education and the Ministry of National Education. This collaboration establishes KONYAMUN’26 not merely as a youth event, but as a prestigious and impactful organization reflecting Konya’s vision in education and diplomacy.

KONYAMUN’26 is planned to consist of 8 carefully selected committees. Each committee’s focus and agenda have been determined with great precision to effectively address current global humanitarian issues. These committees will tackle global matters across various fields, each through its own unique agenda, ensuring comprehensive and in-depth discussions.

Participants will have the opportunity to develop policies, utilize diplomatic skills, and produce international cooperation strategies in line with each committee’s agenda, thereby experiencing a true Model United Nations simulation. Thus, KONYAMUN’26 goes beyond being merely an academic platform, emerging as a visionary and prestigious organization where young people can produce solutions to global problems and represent Konya both nationally and internationally.

KONYAMUN’26 is a prestigious conference designed in full accordance with the United Nations Charter and follows a strictly formal procedure. The 8 committees within the conference are structured to provide participants with both academic and diplomatic depth.

Among these committees are the TDBB committee, which will host a procedure being implemented for the first time in MUN history, and the UCLG committees, which feature unique and distinctive procedures. These committees aim to offer participants an innovative and in-depth discussion environment beyond the classical MUN experience.

Additionally, the UNSC and DISEC committees will operate with semi-crisis scenarios supported by action-based crises, testing participants’ abilities in rapid decision-making, strategy development, and diplomatic problem-solving. This allows participants to enhance their crisis management, negotiation, and cooperation skills in a realistic setting.

In summary, KONYAMUN’26 goes beyond the traditional MUN format by offering a comprehensive diplomacy and leadership experience enriched with innovative procedures and realistic crisis simulations.
